Lucerne's flea markets
Lucerne has one regular market indoors and one outdoors. At the Neubad, the Strandgut market fills the empty basin of the old Biregg indoor pool twice a month, all under a roof. In the Vögeligärtli, a few minutes from the station, antiques, books and vinyl cover the tables every week from May to October, under the city's rule that everything must be used. In the warm months a third sets up by the lake at the Minigolf Lido, once a month.
The rest follows the seasons. In April the covered rink of the Eiszentrum becomes a flea market, whatever the weather. Children's clothes and toys change hands in spring and autumn at the B102 and at the Paulusheim. On one day in September, pavements, front gardens and courtyards in Säli, Bruch and Obergütsch fill with tables, and a neighbourhood map shows where. In November the parish hall of St. Anton is given over to used mountain gear.
